History
APOSTOLIC LIFE COMMUNITY OF PRIESTS IN THE OPUS SPIRITUS SANCTI (Holy Spirit Fathers) was founded by late Fr. Bernard Bendel in Germany in the year 1974 after the world war II. Fr. Bendel was praying in a small chapel. He saw the massive destruction and suffering of the people. As he was praying, he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to build a new society that God may be all in all. Opus Spiritus Sancti has five segments. They are:
1. Apostolic Community of Priests ALCP in OSS
2. Apostolic Community of Sisters ALCS in OSS
3. Secular Institute for Diocesan priests SIP in OSS
4. Secular Institute for Women SIW in OSS
5. Apostolic Christians- CAC in OSS
ALCP is known as Holy Spirit Fathers. There are altogether 150 members and a Bishop working in different parts of the world. The Apostolate of the Congregation is pastoral, educational and social, and the charism of the society is to read the signs of time and respond to the needs of the local church in a given situation.
