History
Late Rev. Fr. Varkey Kattarath founded the Vincentian Congregation on November 20, 1904 at Thottakam, Kerala. Divine Providence revived the congregation after a break, through late Frs. George M, Antony P, and George V. Since the congregation draws its spirit and distinctive character from the life, works and rules of St.Vincent De Paul, it was called the Vincention Congregation and St. Vincent De Paul is chosen as the Father and patron of the congregation. The aim of Vincentian Congregation is to imitate Jesus who is the evangelizer of the poor as St. Vincent De Paul did.
