History
St. Gasper Del Bufalo founded the congregation of the Precious Blood Missionaries on 15th August, 1815 at St. Felix of Giano, in the region of Umbria, Italy in honor of the most precious blood which is the price of our redemption. He propogated the spiritually of the most precious blood and preached the popular mission through out Italy. Today apart from Italy this congregation is expanded in Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, USA, Canada, Guatemala, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Tanzania and in India.
Bishop Johannes invited Precious Blood Missionaries to take up the parish of Uppaladadia and render their services on May, 2006.
Apostolate in the diocese
Apostolate of the word, conducting popular missions, retreat preaching, all pastoral, social, medical, educational and charitable activities according to the needs of the times and pay a special attention to the poor and the youth and the underprivileged and the foreign missions.
