History
The Franciscan Province of St.Thomas the Apostle, India, was erected on the 12th of March, 1985. Franciscans belonging to the only one Province in India, are spread out all over India. The Franciscans in Andhra have only three houses and at the invitation of late Bishop Gorantla Johannes in the year 2001 the then Franciscan Provincial – Fr. Scaria Varanath a Mission Parish House at Pasurpad, near Nandyal, Kurnool Diocese was erected. Fr. S. Pratap, OFM was the pioneer and the First Parish Priest of the Newly Erected Parish on the 6th of January 2002.
