"You are a Priest forever in the order of Melchisedek" (Heb 5/6). Indeed it was a grace-filled day for the diocese of Kurnool, especially for the faithful of Cathedral Parish to commence the Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee year of our beloved Bishop, His Excellency Most Rev. Anthony Poola on 20-02.2016. The inauguration of Jubilee year began with solemn entrance dance, proceeding towards the Altar of God with the Jubilerian, priests and the faithful. Reaching to the Altar the Jubilerian His Lordship gave Kumbha Harathi to the Lord and to the Faithful. He celebrated his first Holy Mass of 25th year as if it was his first Mass. He celebrated the Holy Mass with tears as a gratitude to God for these 24 years; by recalling past life and remembering all those who nurtured his vocation to the Priesthood. In his homily His Excellency stressed the greatness of God's Call. He shared his inspiring and motivating vocation story to the faithful. He was very emotional and tearful when he recalled to his mind the first walks of Vocation. Truly his life witness as priest of Christ was inspiring, edifying and enriching. He touched the hearts of many through his God experience and his contribution to Telugu Church. He offered the Eucharist as gratitude to God and for all those who helped in his past 24 years of priestly life. After the Eucharistic celebration, His Excellency blessed and laid the foundation stone for the Gate of Year of Mercy of Cathedral. Followed by a small felicitation ceremony to the Jubilerian. We the Parish Priest Fr. Kola Vijay Raju and assistant Fr. Devadas Siddipogula honored his Excellency. Bishop wished five priest of the diocese Fr. Lourdu, Fr. Amruthraj, Fr. Prashanth, Fr. Sudhakar S and Fr. Devadas S, who celebrated ordination day on same day. Many priests and religious of both Kurnool and Kadapa graced the occasion. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who accepted our invitation and sharing the joy through gracious presence. The Inauguration of Sacerdotal silver jubilee year was ended with the delicious breakfast served to all the invitees by the Parish. The Jubilerian His Excellency thanked the Parish Priest Fr. Kola Vijaya Raj and Assistant Fr. Devadas Siddipogula for doubling the joy of his Priesthood.
